Teacher Kindergarten: Jennifer Anderson JAnderson@CarsonMontessori.com
Jennifer has been involved in the field of education for as long as she can remember. She is the daughter of educators who owned and operated a Montessori school in Poughkeepsie, New York for 21 years. Jennifer began learning about Montessori at the age of two when she became a student in her parent's school. Since then, she has been following in their footsteps. After High School, she attended State University of New York College at Cortland and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education for Nursery school through 12th grade with a concentration in English. Post graduation she found herself drawn back to the Montessori environment. Simultaneously she began her training in the Montessori primary method at the Center for Montessori Education in New York and New Jersey, and working in schools in the Hudson Valley area of New York and New York City.
After six years of educating young children, she began working at the Alzheimer's Association doing educational programs and community outreach, coordinating the helpline, assisting support groups, and helping the development team with fundraisers.
Jennifer has recently taken some time for herself and was able to fulfill sortie life long dreams. She completed 2 mini, sprint triathlons, one of which was at Disney World! Because of her passion for travel and desire to see the country she was born in, she drove across the United States. This trip included visiting many of the Country's beautiful national parks, and other cities in the United States that she had only read about or saw pictures of. Last year she attended a study abroad training program for massage therapy in Portugal. After the program she was lucky enough to travel through Portugal, Spain, France, England, and Ireland. She loves the outdoors, meeting new people, and learning about new cultures. She is excited about living in the west and experiencing the beauty of its land and people. She looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for learning and her life experience with her students. This summer she plans on continuing her education as she begins a graduate degree program in Education with a concentration in Montessori Elementary.
